The Challenge
A large-scale catering operation serving thousands of covers daily needed to identify returning guests on arrival, surface their preferences and dietary requirements to front-of-house staff in real time, and feed every interaction back into the CRM without adding friction to the service flow. Legacy CRM lookups took 8 to 12 seconds per query, making real-time personalisation impossible at volume.
What We Built
We built a custom CRM integrated with face-scan hardware at venue entry points, powered by our Adaptive WebGPU Data Query Engine. When a guest is scanned, the system executes a formulaic scoring function that evaluates query complexity, dataset size, and available hardware, then routes the relational operation to the optimal compute tier. Simple lookups resolve on CPU in under 50ms. Complex cross-venue preference aggregations dispatch to the GPU, filtering thousands of guest records in parallel and returning results before the guest reaches their table.
The Result
Guest recognition latency dropped from 8 to 12 seconds to under 200ms. Thousands of guests are now processed daily with real-time personalisation across multiple venues. Front-of-house staff receive guest history, preferences, and dietary flags on their device before the first interaction.
