The Challenge

A university was processing hundreds of distinct data activities across dozens of departments, each with different retention rules, lawful bases, and cross-border transfer requirements. Subject access requests had a 30-day legal deadline but averaged 22 days to complete manually. DPIA reports were months out of date. The institution was one missed deadline away from an ICO investigation.

What We Built

We built an automated DPO system powered by our precision-aware dispatch engine. The system evaluates GDPR compliance rules across every registered processing activity using pipeline fusion: chained operations like data mapping, risk scoring, DPIA generation, and SAR fulfilment execute as a single fused pipeline with zero intermediate data transfer overhead. Each rule evaluation is dispatched to the optimal precision tier, using full-precision arithmetic for legal threshold calculations and reduced precision for bulk risk scoring, maximising throughput without sacrificing accuracy where it matters.

The Result

Subject access request turnaround dropped from 22 days to under 4 hours. DPIA reports now regenerate automatically whenever a processing activity changes. The university maintains continuous audit-readiness across all departments with zero manual compliance labour.

Architecture

Our technical approach.

Every system we build runs on our adaptive three-tier compute architecture. Operations dispatch automatically between CPU, Web Workers, and WebGPU compute shaders based on dataset size and device capabilities.

Sensitive data stays on-device. Our hybrid CPU/GPU architecture processes locally via Web Workers and client-side GPU, eliminating cloud dependencies and round-trip server transfers entirely.
